In this edition, we’re pulling back the curtain on FINN’s People Team – a diverse group of 20 professionals, split between our Munich HQ and remote setups across Germany.


As an integrated engine behind FINN’s success, the People Team champions everything from talent acquisition and development to employee experience and organizational growth. What does collaboration look like in your team on a typical day?

Our daily work thrives on close collaboration between our four key units and the broader business. Here's how we team up:

  • Talent Acquisition (TA): We’re strategic hiring partners – defining roles, challenging the status quo, and running end-to-end recruiting. From interviews to offers and onboarding, we shape how top talent joins FINN.
  • People Operations (PO): The go-to team for daily support. We manage contracts, benefits, absences, and ensure HR compliance – keeping everything running smoothly for employees and leaders.
  • People Experience (PX): We focus on growth and development. From performance and promotions to employee transitions, we auto managers and track key people metrics like engagement and attrition.
  • CPO Office: As our strategic hub, this team drives our People Vision, leads OKR planning, and steers projects that move the entire People Team – and FINN – forward.


Cross-functional collaboration is part of our daily routine. TA and PX align on onboarding, probation reviews, and hiring quality, while People Operations supports with contracts and policy questions. We also drive efficiency: our Business Automation & AI Manager builds tools and reports that reduce manual work and enable data-driven decisions. Above all, the People Team is a true business partner – working closely with leaders to ensure our people practices support FINN’s company goals.

If someone joined your team tomorrow, what would surprise them most?

If you joined the People Team tomorrow, you'd likely be most surprised by our welcoming nature and the proactive "Good to Know" coffee chat invitations you'd receive from day one. It's completely normal to quickly connect with everyone across the team. We pride ourselves on being supportive right from the start, making sure new colleagues feel integrated and comfortable as quickly as possible.


Beyond the initial welcome, you'd also experience a team that truly enjoys celebrating each other and embodies cross-team collaboration. While we operate with a hybrid setup, we ensure close collaboration regardless of your location. This blend offers flexibility while building strong personal connections, and it extends into how we connect outside of work. You might be surprised by our team activities, from private trips to Mallorca and bi-weekly team lunches to sports activities, after-work happy hours, or even a cold plunge in the nearby public swimming pool!


This combination of immediate support, genuine camaraderie, a thoughtful approach to hybrid work, and a vibrant social calendar truly sets our team apart and often surprises new members in the best way.

How do you celebrate wins – big or small – together?

We believe in making every win count, whether it's a major milestone or a small daily achievement. We start by giving shoutouts in our team all-hands meetings, ensuring individual and team efforts are publicly recognized among our colleagues. We also make a conscious effort to make milestones and achievements visible across the company, often using our dedicated channels to highlight successes and keep the energy high.


Beyond our team, significant achievements are often celebrated in the company all-hands, where our contributions to FINN's overall success are shared with everyone. We also recognize Culture Ambassadors who play a vital role embodying our values and reinforcing the behaviors and achievements that embody FINN's values. These multifaceted approaches ensure our team's hard work and successes are not only acknowledged but also inspire others across the organization.


Which recent project brought your team together?

Most recently, our defining project was shaping our People Vision 2027! This wasn't a top-down mandate. It was a deeply collaborative journey for the entire People Team. We held a comprehensive brainstorming session, treating it like a team retrospective. We looked back at our old People Vision and its related strategic goals, assessed our accomplishments, pinpointed shortcomings, and generated fresh ideas. All of this was done to sharply define our guiding north star for the future.

From these rich discussions, we developed four strategic long-term goals: raising the bar in hiring, enabling our leaders, building an efficient & connected organisation, and embedding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into our identity. After solidifying these goals, we held an Activation Workshop with the whole team. This ensured everyone understood and aligned with the new vision, which now serves as the basis and north star for all our People Team initiatives in the coming years.


This process truly united us, aligning on how we empower everyone at FINN to drive success through People Excellence, and igniting our shared passion for building an even higher-performing and thriving organization!
