What's New in the 2023 Ram 1500 compared to the 2022 version of Ram 1500?

Every year Ram is committed to improving the standards of the vehicles and the comfort they provide the drivers and passengers. There are a few such changes that have been added to the 2023 Ram 1500 truck model:

  1. Exterior: The most notable change is the addition of the Limited Elite edition. It adds a range of features such as a tailgate-ajar warning, a bed extender, and a cargo divider as well as the deployable bed step. The Limited Lite Edition comes with a Crew Cab body and is powered by a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine with eTorque mild hybrid assistance. Additionally, all trims are now equipped with an LED hitch lamp

  2. Engine: there haven’t been many updates in terms of the power capacity. Models from both years possess impressive towing capacities of up to 12,750 lbs.

  3. Interior: the 2023 Ram model is equipped with a more appealing frameless 12-inch cluster behind the wheel. This allows for more convenient reading of the full-screen navigation, indicators, and other crucial information for an efficient and comfortable drive.

  4. Safety: all trims for this model include a rear-seat reminder which is especially helpful when traveling with pets or children in passenger seats at the back.

All-in-all, despite both models containing all the standard features that ensure a pleasant driver and passenger experience, opting for newer models adds that extra layer of performance and convenience that manufacturers are adding for the benefit of their clients. Do Ram 1500 trucks belong to Dodge?

Originally, the Ram 1500 trucks belonged to the Dodge lineup. In 2009, the parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) separated the two brands. Previously, the Ram trucks were known as “Dodge Ram trucks” which is not the case anymore. The separation of the two brands allowed the company to better distinguish two production lines: the Ram for trucks and the Dodge for passenger vehicles.

Common FAQs about the Ram 1500 trucks

The 2023 model comes in several different trim levels. These are Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, Big Horn (also known as Lone Star in Texas), Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited, TRX.

The Ram 2023 comes in two cab configurations: Crew and Quad cabs. The main difference between the two configurations is the interior capacity. Both configurations have 2 rows of seating. However, the Crew cab offers more legroom for the second row of seats than the Quad cab. At FINN, we offer a more comfortable seating arrangement with the Crew cab configuration. Specifically, we have the Big Horn/Lone Star 4x4 Crew Cab 5'7" and the Laramie 4x4 Crew Cab 5'7" options.

Both the Cab and the Quab configurations can seat up to six people. The seating arrangement depends on whether the cars are equipped with a front bench seat or bucket seats. The bucket front seats reduce the seating capacity to five people per car. The choice between the seating arrangements will depend on your needs and preferences. Whilst bucket seats are more comfortable as they provide more support for the individual body, bench seats can fit more people. Additionally, this depends on individual preferences as some people appreciate more freedom that the bench seats provide and find the bucket seats limiting and the movements restricted.

The precise weight of the car will depend on cab configuration and other parameters. The weight can range anywhere between 4,765 and 6,440 pounds.

TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) is a safety feature that monitors the air pressure in the car’s tires. If the system detects a deflated tire, it will alert the driver through the information dashboard. Tire pressure is a crucial parameter that one needs to take care of as it affects the vehicle’s handling, tire lifespan, and fuel efficiency.

Typically, the TPMS reset button is located beneath the steering wheel. You want to make sure you know where the button is located as resetting the system is crucial for re-calibration after the tire pressure in your vehicle has been adjusted.

At its maximum capacity, the Ram 1500 truck can tow up to 12,750 pounds. This top-end capacity comes with the base Tradesman trim level’s Quab cab. It is important to note that other factors such as the engine power, transmission, vehicle weight, axle ratio, tires, brakes, suspension, cooling system, and towing equipment influence the towing capacity. Therefore, it is difficult to estimate the precise power of any one vehicle. This also depends on the extent the vehicle has already been used or whether it is new.
